To many people, Valencia is still an unknown city in the Mediterranean. Located on the East coast of Spain with beautiful sandy beaches, Valencia is considered a hidden treasure that will pleasantly surprise you! The third city of Spain (after Madrid and Barcelona) with 800.000 inhabitants is famous for its pleasant climate, a cozy city centre with many centuries of true Spanish history and a spectacular state-of-the-art futuristic architecture. It is a year-round destination. But as for the months July and August; they can be hot (more than 30ºC).
A walking tour through the city centre visiting the main monuments and attractions will be combined with tastings at the Central Market, the largest market of Spain. Here you will find typical Spanish products like Iberian ham, cheese, olives and wine. The tour ends at a Spanish tavern for some tapas and pintos.
When you see Valencia, the city of Arts & Sciences from the plane before landing, it looks like impressive organic structures over the former river bed gardens. Once you are there, the sites made of the Science museum, Imax theatre, opera house and marine park designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava are breathtaking! Upon request private guided tours can be arranged by an architect that will make your visit even more memorable.
The cradle of the famous paella is the rice fields located on the shores of the Albufera nature park just some 10 km to the south of Valencia. Eating paella is one of the must-do´s when you are in the city. It is a fun activity when you cook it yourself (of course, with some help of a local chef from Valencia) in the gardens next to the Albufera lake.
Valencia is a bike friendly city, perfectly designed to be discovered by bike. Totally flat, with a 12 km city park in the former riverbed, dozens of kilometers of cycling tracks, the City of Arts and Sciences and the city centre with small traffic-free streets. Do you prefer more adventure, then use an environmental friendly Segway to cross the city.
We can organise a sailing regatta with small sailing boats on the former course of the America´s Cup race. Or do you prefer to relax and enjoy the warm sun and cool sea breeze on a sportive catamaran? Everything is possible!
